Review: Beauty uk

Without flash
I recently purchased a new eye shadow as I've been looking for a new one for awhile now, I normally use Collection 2000 but they no longer had the eye shadow set that I've been using. So I decided to look for and try a new brand of eye shadow, I knew I wanted one that was not too heavy on the skin, one that doesnt stain too much or is hard to remove and one that is skin friendly. After looking at all the brands I ended up purchasing an eye shadow set from the brand Beauty uk and I must say from wearing it the other day, for me it was a rather pleasant wear. Its not heavy on the skin, it doesnt stain, its not hard to remove and for me it was skin friendly, which is great. The only thing that I wasn't too keen on was the glitter in the eye shadow, simply for the fact that it gets everywhere on your face.. annoyingly. If you're into abit of glitter then you'll love it but other than that its a very good buy, the packaging is a nice clear case at the front giving you a good show of the eye shadows inside aswell as the small rectangle mirror at the bottom and the little eye shadow applicator that can also be seen. You can fit this eye shadow set in your handbag, the colours are fun and vibrant and it's an enjoyable wear!
I'll put up a picture of me wearing the eyeshadow soon!

Review: Nivea - pearl & shine

Even though this lip balm has been out for ages, I just wanted to do a quick review as they've put out a new and improved version and because I love it! Also this will be good for anyone who is looking for a good lip balm to use.

Just wanted to quickly say that I absolutely love Nivea's pearl & shine lip balm/chapstick which ever you want to call it. This is what i've been using for many years and since then this is the only type of lip balm that I use. Nivea have recently improved the formula for the lip balm and re-designed the lip balm exterior.
The texture of the new and improved Nivea pearl & shine is now more smoother on the lips, it also has a more of a glossy and shiny look than the previous one did. There's more colour to the lip balm a nice pinkish colour, so if you're not a fan of lipstick and lipglosses then I would definitely recommend this lip balm for you.
When I wear this lip balm I might sometimes add lipgloss over it to make it even more glossy for me, but thats just what I do.

As i've said this is the only lip balm stick that I use, it's long lasting once applied, it makes your lips feel smoothe and soft and it gives your lips that extra pinkish gloss and shine. I'd definitely suggest this as a perfect drugstore lip balm/chapstick to try out.

The first swatch at the top of my hand is Nivea pearl & shine =)

Useful Black Haircare Tips!

After many years of hair growth, first hand hair experiences/lessons and research i've learnt some useful black haircare tips that I actually do and find work for me, aswall as some that i've just researched haven't tested out YET but find many other people recommending also for being good healthy hair tips.

  • Maintaing a healthy lifestyle - Keeping fit, drinking plenty of water, taking vitamins for hair, skin and nails etc
  • TRIM YOUR HAIR - A lot of people are scared of getting their hair trimmed and so was I when I first got my hair trimmed many years ago but trimming your hair every so often is essential, in order to PREVENT split hairs from travelling up the hair shaft.

  • When washing your hair DO NOT scratch at the scalp and roots thinking your doing your hair some kind of justice because you're really not and that will just cause a lot of friction to the roots and can result in you ruining hair folicules and pulling out hair.
  • When washing your hair DO use your finger tips to work and massage the shampoo/conditioner into the hair and make sure your massaging your hair in one direction as this will reduce the tangling of the hair.

  • Use conditioner after washing your hair, it will help to detangle the hair if there are any tangles and it gives your hair protection and shine. Preferably use a leave in conditioner!

  • Drying your hair- Do not rub your hair together with your towel when drying this is bad for your hair, instead with your towel pat your hair dry.

  • Moisturise and seal your hair. Some people do this every night or every other day this helps protect and moisturise the ends, as the ends are the oldest part of your hair you want to make sure that you really focus on them. Grease your scalp also you can do this after every washing of the hair - I like to use African Pride or Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil. (Don't over moisture your hair otherwise you'll suffocate it and your hair will be heavy from all the grease etc)
  • When combing your hair comb from the tip and work your way upwards! It might sound like a drag of a process but its much better than puilling at your hair from the roots. (Use wide tooth combs)
  •  Wrap your hair with a silk or satin scarf to prevent breakage whilst sleeping or you can use a silk pillowcase.
  •
  • Reduce the amount of hot devices that you use on your hair - hair straightners, blow dryer, hair curlers etc. Now I prefer to wear my hair straight but i'll only have it straightened once and just make sure i wrap my hair well to keep it straight, otherwise i'll only straighten any lil section of hair that really needs to be straightened if its really crimpled.
In conclusion make sure you just take time with your hair, love it and nurture it, find a routine that works for you and stick with it and you'll see a difference that will help you to grow and retain your length.

Valentines weekend is here are you excited?

Review: Herbal Essence Split Ends Protection Shampoo and Conditioner

I recently decided to switch up my shampoo and conditioner after watching a few youtube videos and I decided to choose Herbal Essence after hearing a few good things about some of their other products. So Herbal Essence have a few shampoos and conditioner sets that each have different aims for the hair. There's one set that focus' on maintaining length, there's another one that focus' on I think dry scalp and then there's the one that I purchased which focus' on preventing the hair from getting split ends.

I've used both the Herbal Essence split ends protection shampoo and split ends protection conditioner once now and I must say it really did impress me. The shampoo once applied and worked into hair lathers up well, you don't have to put an awful lot of shampoo in your hair for it to lather up and on top of that it smells amazing! As for the conditioner, this too is also great again you don't need to apply a lot for it to cover and saturate the entire head, it smells amazing too after rinsing out the conditioner I found that it leaves your hair feeling really silky smooth. Almost as if each strand of your hair has been left with a coating of protection. So as i've said that was my first time using the Herbal Essence range to wash and condition my hair with so i'll see how it goes for me, but I might just add don't just wash and condition your hair thinking thats all you need to do to prevent split ends. You also need to maintain your hair by doing all the other important stuff like trimming your ends every so often as that's very important too.

Just to finish up I want to comment on the packaging/bottles, which I think look really cool and enjoyuably different. From the design of the bottles it basically shows you that you can't have the shampoo without the conditioner because the come as a pair! So if you're looking for a new shampoo and conditioner set I would definitely say check out the Herbal Essence range, it's a nice price I paid less than £5 for both items together which is pretty good if you think about it. You can find the Herbal Essence range in your favourite supermarkets and drugstores such as Superdrugs.
